Stop Smoking Day 29

I believe The worse is now over and I can get on with my new life without cigarettes. Days 27, 28, and today 29 have been great. I haven't hardly had a craving during the last 3 days. Unlike my previous attempts to quit. I have energy now. I was totally lethargic during my 4 and a half month quit last year. That was one of the reasons I returned to smoking is because I felt so bad and had absolutely no energy.

Things are different this time. I'm happy, I have energy, I sleep like a baby. My health has improved so much in the last 29 days..it's just totally unbelievable. I'm also not thinking about cigarettes now. How good one would be after a big meal. That's how I relapsed last time. I kept fantasizing about smoking. One has to work up a deep hatred for cigarettes to quit long term. There's no getting around it.

Ifyou fantasize about cigarettes. How much you miss them. You will relapse at some future date. Theirs no getting around it. When that happens. You will take a puff and go right back into the bondage of cigarettes. CigsAre Not Your Friends They are poisonous garbage.

I know their will be a few rough roads ahead during this quit. I also know that the worse is behind me now. I just have to make the decision to never smoke again and then don't mope about it. Later.

Stop Smoking Day 26

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I was about ready to start back smoking. Nagging craves, bored, not feeling well. I knew their would be days like that. I'm happy to say I am still not smoking. I have to take each day one day at a time. Last night, after making my post to blogger. I listened to one of my Stop Smoking hypnosis cd's.

After listening to the cd I was fine. I went to bed about 10:00 pm. I got up early this morning and did a bicycle ride for exercise. I haven't hardly had a craving for a cigarette all day. I know their will be no days in my future quit that will be worse than yesterday. I made it through yesterday. I see no reason to give up and go back to smoking now.

Smoking doesn't have one single benefit to the smoker. It's all an illusion. Name one benefit of smoking a cigarette. Their isn't any benefit. Only harm in the deadly poisonous things. That's not to say their won't be rough roads ahead. Their will be strong cravings down the road. Their will be many times I will be tempted to smoke. I must never take another puff.

One more thing and I will get off here. This morning I saw a doctor on one of the talk news shows. It may have been "Good Morning America." I'm not sure if it was good morning america. He was talking about quitting smoking. This guy would make a con artist blush with the bs he was spewing out.

Here's basically what the con artist..(excuse me Dr) said about stopping smoking.

You can't stop by yourself. You must have a dr to prescribe medication. This guy knows nothing about stopping smoking. He wants your money. He's very ignorant on the subject of stopping smoking. People stop smoking everyday and are successful without a dr. The ones that do most of the failing and go back to smoking are the ones that take the drugs the dr gives them. A sure way to blow a good quit is to get a dr involved.

You must understand that a doctor only makes money by office visits and trying to con you into using those worthless nicotine patches, inhalers, gums. Chantix and all that garbage. You don't need any of that mess to stop smoking. I know dozens of people that have quit smoking and they haven't smoked a cigarette in years. How did they do it?

They did it using the "Cold turkey method." I know their are some that have quit smoking using the nrt products. However, I personally know of no one that has quit long term using "Nicotine Replacement Therapy products. They've all relapsed around the 90 day period. Which just happens to be the day when the nicotine is taken away. The nrt people are still feeding their addiction to nicotine.

It doesn't matter how a person stops smoking. If nrt works for you, fine. Just remember this. Your still feeding the addiction. It's true your no longer smoking. However, your still shooting or injesting the nicotine which is what you are addicted to in the first place.Your not addicted to smoking. Your addicted to nicotine

After the 90 days are up and a person no longer uses the nrt products. What happens? He or she start having nicotine withdrawal symptoms just like a person has that quits col turkey during the first 3 days of their quit.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Theirs no shortcut and easy way to give up the nicotine addiction. You can choose to go the cold turkey route. Even use Zyban or Chantix, hypnosis. Your worse withdrawal symptoms are over in 3 days. Or you can postpone the nictine withdrawal symptoms for 90 days by still injecting it into your system through the patches, gums, inhalers, etc.

Using "Nrt products to quit smoking is like a heroin addict still injecting herion into his sytem and the says he has broken the addiction.HUH? Are you insane? That's whats going on here. I have nothing against Zyban, Chantix, or nrt. Quit the way that works for you. However, you will pay the piper at the end of the 90 day period. If you use the "Nicotine Replacement Crap" Thats on the market. This doesn't apply to Zyban or chantix ..because they don't contain nicotine.

Here's an excellent article on Chantix. Chantix Please Read If I had to choose one. I would pick zyban. It's hard quitting smoking. However, you can quit using any number of stop smoking aids. Books, zyban, hypnosis cds, hard candies, My opinion is use anything you need to to quit. However, remember what I said about "NRT Products."

Be sure to read the link I provided on "Chantix" This drug may have safety issues.

Stop Smoking Day 25

Another crappy day. I'm in trouble. I've gone 25 days without a cigarette. I'm still craving a cigarette like it's day 2. I'm running on total willpower now. I don't know how much longer I can hold out without a smoke.

I'm supposed to hate cigarettes. I don't though. That's the problem. I don't hate them. I wish I did. Wished I could say tommorow will be better. I don't know what tommorow will bring. I do know one thing. I'm about ready to throw in the towell.

I don't know what to do. If I blow this quit. I probably won't ever attempt to quit again. I have to figure out a way to keep motivated and not blow this quit. Later.

Stop Smoking Day 24

I've now on day 24 without a cigarette. Days 22 and 23 were good with hardly any withdrawal pangs or craves. I don't know why day 21 was the worse day of this entire quit. The cravings for a cigarette just wouldn't go away that day.

Today, Day 24 is going good. I've had a few cravings for a cigarette. They have been minor and I've been able to get rid of them easily by taking a few deep breaths. Here's a point to ponder.

How Long Does It Take A Smoker To Become A Non Smoker?

This is just my opinion. I would say 1 year. That's because only 9% of smokers who try to quit smoking are still not smoking at the end of one year. All celebrating for stop smoking at one month is stupid for lack of a better term. 3 months of not smoking a cigarette doesn't make you a non smoker. Neither does 6 months.

I don't say this to discourage you. I just want you to know the truth. The highest failure rate is around the 90 day period. I believe thsi is partly because of all the people that are coming off the "nicotine patches, gums, and inhalers". These individuals have been injecting themselves with nicotine. Which is the very drug they was addicted to while smoking.

Their still getting the drug during this 90 day period. The only difference is they are injecting it and not smoking it. Does that make any sense? LOL. When the 90 days are up and they no longer can use the drug. They relapse. It's a simple concept really. It's true they haven't smoked for 90 days. However, their still getting the drug which is nicotine. During the 90 days they are still feeding the addiction. Not moving away from it.

A smoker will always be a nicotine addict. Just one puff will bring back the addiction. Theirs no time limit in this addiction. It doesn't matter if you've been quit for 1 day or 7 years. Your one puff away from going back to smoking. That's how powerful the addiction is. One puff and you throw everything away. You will be back smoking.

These are just my opinions only. I will say this. Ifyou fantasize about smoking. You probably won't make it to one year. You probably won't make it to 6 months. You may make it to 3 months. Unless you can work up a deep hatred for cigarettes. I don't believe a person can quit long term. As I've previously stated several times.

I've had several quits. All cold turkey with no crutches. I've made it 4 and a half months before. I've been there and done that. I won't ever celebrate being a non smoker until I make it to one year.
